Grievance redressal mechanisms
The Local Self Government Department (LSGD) has put in place various mechanisms to address grievances related to Gram Panchayats. The main existing grievance redressal mechanisms are given below:

This is a system that unifies online services in local self-government institutions. The public has the opportunity to submit complaints and objections through this online system.

Public Grievance Redressal Cell (LSGD):
Complaints can be submitted through the Public Grievance Redressal Cell under the Local Self Government Department.
The Local Self Government Department has provided special WhatsApp numbers to submit complaints regarding delays in getting services, corruption, and a garbage-free New Kerala.

Ombudsman for Local Government Institutions
The Ombudsman is the authority for local self-government institutions at the state level to conduct detailed and general inquiries into corruption, maladministration and irregularities in the performance of administrative duties by the members of the governing bodies including the President of the local self-government institutions, officers, and officers directly or indirectly assigned to the local self-government institutions and transferred to them, and to redress such complaints as per the provisions of this Act.

Tribunal for Local Self Government Institutions:
The Local Bodies Tribunal is responsible for hearing and deciding appeals and revisions against the decisions of the local bodies. The Tribunal is constituted by a legal expert of the rank of District Judge. The Tribunal is also empowered to express its opinion on any representations received from the Government regarding the legality and validity of the decisions taken by the local bodies. The petition in Form C should be filed with the Tribunal within 30 days from the date of the order against which the complaint is made. A petition or correction may be filed with the permission of the Tribunal with a delay of one month. If a petition filed with the local body is not disposed of within sixty days, a petition may be filed with the Tribunal within ninety days. As there may be some opposition to this petition, a self-attested copy of the petition and other relevant documents, and affidavits as far as possible, may be delivered to the Tribunal in person or by registered post. The petition should be accompanied by a DD of Rs. 50 payable at the Thiruvananthapuram office of the Tribunal. In addition, a Legal Benefit Fund stamp of Rs. 100 should be affixed on the petition.

Chief Minister's Public Grievance Redressal System:
This is an online system for receiving administrative complaints of the entire government. Launched to resolve public complaints in a very efficient manner, this website includes options such as submitting complaints, checking their status, finding charge officers, etc. It also includes dashboards for state services, grievance redressal, relief fund reports, and public testimonials for services. This portal aims to make citizen services more popular and service-friendly.
Any complaint related to the Local Self Government Department can be submitted through this. The complaint will be forwarded to the concerned department and action will be taken.

Complaint redressal mechanism of the Minister of Local Self-Government and Excise
This is a grievance redressal system that connects offices at various levels of the Local Government and Excise Departments. The online grievance redressal portal can be used to submit grievances related to these departments to the Minister. The complainant will be notified of each move in the grievances through SMS.

Vigilance Wing
In order to take strong action against illegal building constructions, the Taswabhava Vigilance Wing, which operates under the Secretariat, investigates allegations/complaints from the public regarding illegal/illegal building constructions and irregularities in related files across the state.
