The Panchayat Planning Committee is the most important mechanism constituted under the Panchayat Raj Act for planning and implementing the development activities of the Gram Panchayats . It is this committee that provides the necessary instructions and guidelines for the preparation of the development plans of the Panchayat and its implementation.
Main tasks
- Development document: Analyze the current situation and prepare a document in order of priority.
- Annual Plan: Leadership in preparing annual plans and budgets.
- Suggestions: Codify the inputs received from Gram Sabhas and Working Groups.
- Evaluation: Reviewing the progress of projects.
Composition of the Committee
- Chairman: Panchayat President
- Convener: Panchayat Secretary
- Members: Standing Committee Chairpersons
- Experts: Financial/Technical Experts
- Technical Advisor: Asst. Engineer
